Photos of the Ridiculous on the web A Shoot Down These pages contain photos along with critical analyses of actual structures which were found posted on other deck-builders' or suppliers' websites. They are examples of either incompetence, slicksterism or just plain shoddy workmanship. Yet these photos were taken from picture galleries that touted the builder's or suppliers' expertise. They are posted here to show you that you need to be wary about taking anyone's design-aptitude for granted. And you need to look closely at the details in the photos that are presented as examples of someone's expertise. You also need to be aware of what you are getting yourself into when you do it yourself without the expertise required. A job that is 90% OK, is still a 10% piece of  crap. There's seemingly no end to web-fodder for the classification of "ridiculous".
