California Operations
Review and evaluation
of potential projects are handled differently within and outside our
local area of operations.
The
Monterey
area does lie within our operating area
(see below).
Areas outside our normal operating area include
the
Sacramento,
San Francisco,
San Diego
and
Los Angeles
areas.
Outside of our local area of operation,
projects are first
evaluated by looking at digital pictures sent to us by e-mail. If we
accept your project for further review, you will be required to pay a $200
up-front service fee for
MR. DECK
to visit your location and meet with you on-site to complete the
evaluation.
During the
on-site visit, if you wish to proceed, you will prepay a design-work drawing fee, usually in the range of $300
- $500 per structure. Each design drawing is necessary for doing a cost-evaluation because
it helps me figure out what it will take to do the project as designed and
it provides me the means for deriving the
material portion. It's the material costs upon which the labor and
shop overhead costs are based. To do a cost-estimation,
a $250 fee is
charged per structure. This fee will be applied as a credit to the
purchase price if you elect to have MR. DECK
prefabricate the structure and its designated contractor participate in the building of
it.
If
you contract with
MR.
DECK
to build your project, I will work with my local associate or hire local, licensed, qualified subcontractors
to do the construction work. If its an arbor, I will monitor the erection
of the
structure myself. If it's a deck, you
will hire a local licensed deck-builder, or my recommended associate
to do the work under my supervision.
Take note: I don't work for anybody or
sub-contract to anybody I
haven't met face-to-face.
