The Cavalcade of Columns
This style of redwood fence is one of the most original to come along in
many a decade. The boxed columns allow this structure to serve a flat yard
as well as a sloped one; it provides the necessary transition points for a
sloping landscape as well as for changes in direction.
To break-up the towering look of the fence atop a wall, the facade was
given a layered look by the differently textured panels. The fence was
bestowed a regal touch by making the cap-rail into a flared crown-molding.
This theme was furthered by making the latticed section a seamless ribbon
from panel to column.
When it was just
completed.

This masonry wall provides a planting section
between each two columns along its entire length to add some natural-colored
breaks in an otherwise monolithic structure. The front wall is two
continuous ribbons of masonry coming together in a keystone pony-wall having
both lighted house-number and crystal lamp. The design handsomely
compliments the owner's and neighbors properties.
