Mr Deck Showpiece Decks and Arbors

Billow & Grid Arbor   9 x 35 ft (315 sq ft)

This is an arbor whose canopy consists of two billowed
wings on opposite sides of an 11½ ft high central tower composed of four arches in a square configuration. This square of arches supports a 7 ft diameter, 1 ft deep, octagonal skylight with a diagonal grid of intersecting but vertically offset 2x6s.

The front and rear arches contain an arcuated valance. Matching arcuated valances are also placed under the arches at the outer end of both left and right wings.

The canopy lath is hollow 3x3 white PVC square tubing with end-caps. The lath is extended out beyond the end arches in a 3 ft overhang.

The arched tower contains no lath, only the diagonal-grid skylight.

The arbor is given lateral bracing by quarter-arched kneebraces in both left-right and front-back directions.

The arches in the tower and at the terminal ends of the wings are made from Douglas fir and capped with PVC. The arches within the wings are made from laminated solid 1x4 polyethylene plastic.

The 6x6 post and 6x8 beams are made from Douglas fir and the beams are capped with PVC.

The kneebraces are made from laminated solid 1x4 polyethylene plastic.

The arcuated valences are made from 2x4 polyethylene plastic and their inner arch is made from laminated solid 1x4 polyethylene plastic.

The skylight is made from Douglas fir and the rims and grid vanes are capped with PVC.

Price: $12,000, permit allowance of $200 and drawings included.
