This trellis is constructed from solid-plastic PrimoPlank. The solid plastic allows curved elements to be incorporated into a trellis fan-structure that has been here-to-fore constructed with straight stiff pieces. Moreover, the trellis will not deteriorate over time. The plastic's color is solid clear through and will not fade over the years. And only stainless steel screws are used throughout. All elements are 1½ x 1½ except for the 1½ x 3½ cap-piece. The perfectly round 9¼-inch diameter rings are 1½ x 1½ and are cut out of a 2x10 on a numerically controlled carving machine. The trellis tops out at 8 ft. and flairs out to 5 ft. 9 in. Yellow has been used here to maintain the trellis's visibility once it gets clad with a climbing, flowering plant. Wood-colored trellises get buried by dense foliage and become camouflaged, but here the trellis's designer pattern is worth placing on par with a beautiful pattern of flowers. Yellow or white are the best colors for accomplishing this.
Yellow and white, incidentally, are premium colors and cost 15% more than wood-related colors. The trellises come preassembled; they cannot be assembled on site because a special jig and powered bending equipment are involved in their assembly.
