Critiques
From the ridiculous to the sublime, the pattern is basically one design! |
Even architects specify them. They're easy to build -- just about any landscape contractor can do it. They're also cheap relative to designer arbors. The basic design starts with four posts -- boards are clad to both sides of each pair -- on top of that some smaller boards are stacked in the opposite direction -- and lots of sticks are stacked in the opposing direction on top of that . And what you get is a stack of sticks ! The broad canopies have lots of posts too -- more like a trestle than a trellis. If you haven't already been to the Arbors page, click here to see many arbors with designer canopies. And if you want to look at some really novel arbor designs that are still on the drawing board, click here for the Design Orphanage. |
