This is basically an arbor project with a masonry retaining wall and sandstone deck cut into a sloping hillside. The arbor is a free-standing version of the Wingartner Project and a smaller version of the Buckley Project.

The canopy lath is 2x4 Douglas Fir lath on edge, painted white.  It's set into a hillside and is designed as a swing platform -- the reason for the center horizontal beam cutting through the billowed canopy.

The arbor has been engineered to support a 5-ft wide swing. Note the use of arched knee-bracing above the post collars for added lateral stability for the swing.
